Spinning and Weaving Fruits and Veggies
Using plant-based fibers such as pineapple, banana, bamboo, corn, soybean and avocado, ages 6 and older will learn to spin and then use the yarn they spun to create a mini woven wall hanging.

The studio at Lasdon is open. In this workshop children follow their own creative path, working in a variety of different materials with an art educator guiding them along the way. Registration is required to attend this program. This is not a drop off program. For ages 4 and up

Urban Naturalist Bruce Rosenberg will lead a walking tour that will focus on the history and highlights of the Lasdon Public Gardens. Stops will include examining the William and Mildred Lasdon Memorial Garden, the magnolia trees, lilacs, conifers and azalea garden in addition to learning about the history of the Lasdon Main House. The sights and scents of the season flourish across the garden collections of Lasdon Public Gardens. Spend some time with Lasdon's head gardener on a walking tour featuring highlights of the gardens and plant collections. The one hour tour is free and meets at the Memorial Garden Entrance.
Spend a few hours in our garden! Work next to Lasdon's gardeners on tasks that include watering, weeding, planting, pruning, deadheading, transplanting, tropical plant maintenance in a 60 year old greenhouse! Sign up at www.volunteernewyork.org.
