Master Class: Exploring Art through Great Artists
With a foundation in art history, students gain an understanding of art through masters who have paved the way for today’s art. Each month we will journey into the lives of a specific artist that changed the world by pushing boundaries and redefined what art is during their lifetime. Students dive deep, connecting concepts in both art and science, exploring techniques in a wide range of materials. A wealth of resources relating to the artist, art movement, and/or art technique will include books, videos, online information and local opportunities to experience art will be sent to enhance student learning prior to class.
This class requires a full year commitment- September to May(no class in December). Make-ups/refunds will be offered only in the event of a cancellation made by Lasdon Public Gardens. This class is recommended ages 5 – 10. Approval prior to registration is needed for ages outside this range. Contact Emily at ELFF@westchestercountyny.gov. Enrollment is on a first come first serve basis and will close when class is full or on August 1st, whichever happens first.
